Perspectives on Cultural Heritage: Research, Practice, Policy

November, 2015

The report is the product of a convening held in Washington D.C. with the Smithsonian Institution in April 2015 (full event recap, photos, and video).

In addition to providing a summary of the day's events, the report develops one of the major themes from the conference: the relationship between tangible and intangible cultural heritage. Its aim is to consider the ways in which research scholars can contribute to a greater understanding of why cultural heritage carries the kind of deep meaning and resonance that makes it both subject to forces of destruction and to potential reconciliation projects.
