November 4: CPC to host panel on art, community engagement, and youth programs in the arts

Join the Cultural Policy Center for a panel on art, community engagement, and youth programs in the arts as part of City/Cité: A Transatlantic Exchange, a two-day conference exploring inequality, race, and the state of urban democracy in the United States, France and beyond with leading scholars, policymakers, artists, community organizers, and activists from both sides of the Atlantic.

The panel, as part of a full-day program on race and youth in the modern urban landscape, will begin from the premise that disenfranchised youths are particularly in need of effective programs for engagement. Panelists reflect on how arts and cultural activities have proven to have a powerful social impact among this group, allowing them to build skills of creative expression, critical thinking, and empowerment.
