The presentation looked at new research from one of the five competitive NEA research grants to examine and interpret data from the 2008 Survey of Public Participation in the Arts and previous SPPA surveys (1982, 1992, 2002). Jennifer Novak-Leonard heads the project looking at relationships between attendance and personal arts creation. Her research examines new ways of measuring arts participation and the implications for arts organizations' practice and for policy.
